The Perpetual PIT Mk2 is a Personal Infrared Transmitter to be used by staff to activate the legacy system. Unlike
the 316 PIT series, the 312 series uses a rechargeable supercapacitor instead of a battery.
It is recommended to be worn at waist level and “energized” by an Energizer Station before shifts start or
after use in an emergency. Please see datasheets and Energizer User Manual for more information on our
Energizer products and how they work with these PITs.
Depending on the type of PIT, activation is by either pressing the button on the base of the PIT or by pulling
the PIT from its retaining pin. Pulling the PIT from the retaining pin will activate an Emergency level of call,
whereas pressing the button will activate its secondary feature. These are as follows and relate to the type of
Perpetual PIT that has been purchased:
Single Code
- Emergency Pull with NO Assistance Push
- Emergency Pull with Emergency Button
Twin Code
- Emergency Pull with Assistance Button
Other
- Emergency Pull with Test/Reset Button
When the PIT has been pulled from its retaining pin in an emergency situation, infrared light is immediately
transmitted to the receiver unit in the room. There is no need to point the PIT directly at the receiver units for
the alarm to trigger.
