The P2 Personal Infrared Transmitter (PIT) is a pioneering development for Pinpoint’s trusted personal staff alarms, which have successfully served high-risk workplaces for over 30 years.
An update to the previous model, the P2 PIT utilises the same powerful infrared technology as its predecessor, emitting strong signals to receiver units installed throughout the ceiling when activated, which in turn relays key information to display units for responders to react to.
Also, in keeping with past iterations of the device, the P2 PIT has two call levels – assistance and emergency – correlating to the severity of the incident in question. The assistance call is activated by pressing a button on the bottom of the device, while the emergency level is emitted by separating the pin from the PIT body.
However, the P2 PIT holds a variety of new features that enhance the user experience and make for a high-performance system.
Design
The P2 PIT enjoys a discreet, modern design, giving the device a minimalist look so as to blend in with the environment and not raise the attention of service users.
Rubberised outer materials provide a good grip for staff to activate in an emergency, where the worker must pull the pin from the body of the PIT. A smoother texture on the assistance button facilitates touch location, important in a high-risk situation when staff must act quickly.
The P2 PIT is available as a battery-operated or rechargeable device.
Durability
Highly robust materials enhance the P2 PIT’s durability, maximising its lifespan and therefore cost-effectiveness. New security screws prevent against tampering and risk of damage.
Built to withstand daily wear and tear, the P2 PIT provides optimal performance 365 days a year.
Antimicrobial protection
Incorporating biomaster antimicrobial technology into the P2 PIT, Pinpoint has ensured effective antimicrobial product production, reducing bacterial levels and the risk of microbe growth.
Charging
A magnetic connector facilitates more efficient, rapid charging, while the inclusion of an LED light indicates battery level, with green indicating high charge and red demonstrating poor battery or charge levels.
Accessibility
The addition of an optional bungee grip prevents the PIT body from becoming separated from the user following emergency activation, providing peace of mind to staff members and estate managers.
Pinpoint’s innovative, forward-thinking approach to product design optimises the user experience and creates devices that are efficient, reliable and accessible for staff in high-risk workplaces.
